Andrew C. Wilson
Minneapolis criminal defense attorney Andrew C. Wilson won his first jury trial before graduating from law school. After his first year of practice, his name could be found in Minnesota Supreme Court case law, and since then, he’s continued to accumulate victories through jury trials and bench trials, appeals, Title IX defense cases, harassment cases, and had significant additional success throughout Minnesota at the district courts. Andrew has dedicated his career to practicing criminal defense law and representing individuals accused to have committed crimes.
Although Andrew is primarily a trial attorney, appearing most days of the week before the district courts throughout Minnesota, he also focuses a significant portion of his practice on handling criminal and quasi-criminal appeals (including Title IX appeals). He has argued repeatedly at the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and has also appeared before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. In 2022, he obtained—by stipulation—a reversal and vacation of his client’s felony assault conviction (meaning, a jury convicted his client of felony assault and, after filing for a direct appeal to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the prosecutor’s office agreed that they had convicted his client without sufficient evidence of his guilt and agreed that the conviction should be overturned in its entirety). The same year, he obtained two other reversals/remands at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, argued against the imposition of mandatory life sentences for youthful offenders at the Minnesota Supreme Court, and overturned a Title IX finding of responsibility on appeal at a local private university.
Andrew is an advocate for the underdog and takes pride in providing expert-level representation without exception. He understands the stress and uncertainty associated with criminal allegations and appreciates the unique pressures that accused persons face. He makes it a priority to alleviate as much of that stress and anxiety as he can, through clear communication, up-front strategy, and transparency with his clients.
He also understands that working with attorneys can be intimidating and expensive. He works with his clients—routinely—to arrange billing schedules that fit their needs, and provides free consultations on almost any issue.
