Charles S. Clas, Jr.

Minneapolis criminal defense attorney Charles S. Clas, Jr. has exclusively practiced criminal defense since his admission to the Minnesota bar. Charles (“Charlie”) is a proven criminal defense litigator having successfully defended against all levels of state and federal criminal charges (petty misdemeanor to serious felony). In early 2023, after securing pre-trial dismissal of two counts of first-degree premeditated murder and second-degree intentional murder for his client incarcerated in St. Cloud (Stearns County), he then obtained jury verdicts of “not guilty” on the two remaining charges (aiding and abetting first-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree murder).

Charlie is a trial attorney and experienced litigator, having achieved a number of other significant victories, including not guilty verdicts (“acquittals”) in felony cases alleging assault, criminal sexual conduct, and attempted murder.

Charlie’s trial experience carries over into his representation of individuals alleged to have committed crimes at all levels. His experience has proven that if a case is approached with an eye towards trial, positive results will follow for his clients. He prides himself on providing personalized and case-specific approaches to fit each client's needs.

Apart from handling criminal defense cases throughout all of Minnesota, Charlie also specializes in harassment restraining order defense (including orders for protection, harassment restraining orders, and domestic abuse no contact orders), as well as Title IX defense cases involving allegations of misconduct at a college or university.
